In the same scene that Michael Modano introduces himself to the kids, his real life North Star teammate Basil McRae is right there by his side. Although he plays himself, his lines to Gordon Bombay are fictional, telling him that he remembers him when they used to play Pee Wee Hockey as kids. Basil has since retired and become part owner and alternate governor of the London Knights, a team from the Ontario Hockey League.
