Despite many commentators saying that the Queen would turn her nose up at all this activism, nothing could seem further from the truth. In fact, in March 2019, Meghan Markle was named as the Vice-President of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, which the Queen is the patron of.
Her role will see her working closely alongside young women and girls, and she even gave a speech on equality back on International Women’s Day which was posted on the Kensington Palace Instagram page. It seems even the Queen doesn’t mind a bit of freedom fighting!
