When someone goes traveling for so long, you’d expect them to pick up new things, like some of the local languages. With the amount of time that Anton spent in South America, it’s likely that he heard a lot of Spanish and Portuguese, but it’s believed that he didn’t really pick any of it up. Apart from the odd word, he’s still as unfamiliar with the language as he was back in 2012. Considering he largely kept to himself while traveling, perhaps that’s not a huge surprise.
