Across the five or so years that Anton was missing, he covered a distance of roughly 12,000 miles. His journey involved cutting through the United States from the north-east and traveling down through Mexico. Once he hit South America, he walked most of the continent from top to bottom as he made his way down to Buenos Aires, before returning northwards to Brazil. Almost the entirety of this venture was done without the aid of shoes.
