The statistics on these giant beasts are pretty astounding. Fully loaded, the Mil Mi-26 can carry over 40,000 pounds of gear or troops, and carry all of them at over 15,000 feet. The chopper is really fast too, able to fly at speeds of up to 185 miles per hour, but normally flies at 158 miles per hour for 500 miles. If auxiliary fuel tanks were added then the helicopter would have a range of 1,190 miles!
