As soon as Leonard and Hazel were reunited, they decided to take the next step in their relationship, the natural step, and have a child. The fact that Leonard returned home unharmed gave the couple a new resolve to stay together, remain healthy, and expand their family. In 1944, less than one year after Leonard returned from war, their son David was born. It seems that these two couldn’t wait to become parents, or keep their hands off each other after so many months apart.
