Despite being a hard transition for the loving couple, Hazel got into a routine with Leonard and the staff at his facility. She was friendly with everyone, keeping tabs on Leonard and his progress or lack thereof. Hazel made it her mission to learn as much as she could about what Leonard was going through, there was a part of her that hoped that he would get better. Hazel realized after some time that her hopes were not realistic.
