In 2011, there was a plan to revive Captain Kangaroo, when Pat Cashin, a professional clown, bought the rights for the character, in order to bring the great Captain Kangaroo back to life. However, the plans for the show were dropped when Cashin passed away suddenly at the young age of 48. There are those who say that Captain Kangaroo has had his time and his character could not be brought back, even after a long break between seasons.
