The funniest thing about this one is that this wasn’t even an interview with Courtney Love at all. Not at first, anyway. During the 1995 MTV Video Music Awards, Madonna was talking about her new album when suddenly a shoe – an actual shoe – came flying out of nowhere, nearly belting Madge straight in the face. Understandably shocked, she looked down.

“That’s Courtney, everybody’s favorite…” the interviewer said and then trailed off, not having an exit strategy from that sentence. A somewhat not-all-there looking Love proceeded to throw more things at them from her purse, until Madonna observed that she was in “dire need of attention right now.”
