Soft-spoken and meek Crystal had a very unhappy childhood. She was kicked out of her home by her mother when she was just a teenager, and her first (philandering) husband lost his life in a tragic accident just a year into their marriage. However, she finds a second family in her friendship with Roseanne and Jackie, and actually ends up marrying Dan’s father, Ed – which complicated her status in the Conner household, though her friendships with Jackie and Roseanne remain strong. She and Ed couple have two children together.
