Iconic actress Shelley Winters was a highly accomplished performer who had appeared in more than 170 projects from the big screen to the stage. She won two Academy Awards: one as the sympathetic Mrs. Petronella Van Daan in the film adaptation of The Diary of Anne Frank, and one as the troubled mother Rose-Ann D’Arcey in the drama A Patch of Blue. She is highly regarded for bringing compassion and sympathy to otherwise unlikable characters. Roseanne was one of her last roles before she passed away in 2006 from heart failure.
