Despite portraying her on-screen abuser, Roth and Metcalf ended up dating and marrying, having one biological child and adopting another. Following his short stint on Roseanne, Roth has enjoyed a successful career on television, and has since been on many famous shows, such as Modern Family, Desperate Housewives, Crossing Jordan, Ghost Whisperer, Nip/Tuck, Grey’s Anatomy, and Two and a Half Men. After divorcing Metcalf in 2014, Roth married fellow actress Stephanie Childers in 2015.
