Don Conner is the patriarch of the Conner family, and is by all accounts the stereotypical American father. A hard worker and huge sports fan, he is married to Roseanne and is the father of her children. His favorite things to do are to sit around, eat junk food, and fix up his motorcycles. Conner and Roseanne’s marriage is what helped draw such big audiences, as there was drama and strife as well as happiness – just like in a real family. The character added an element of realism to the show, and critics have said that Dan was a key lynchpin in keeping the family relatable.
