Beverly Harris is Roseanne and Jackie’s tight-wound, seemingly repressed mother. After getting pregnant with Roseanne, Beverly got married in a shotgun wedding. However, her husband Al was not at all prepared to become a family man, and was both physically and emotionally abused to his two daughters. Al ended up cheating on Beverly, causing her to kick him out of the house and reach for the bottle. After his passing, she becomes somewhat closer to her daughters, and even becomes their business partner at their loose meat sandwich shop.
