Amazingly, this wasn’t all that the team found underneath the surface of the ancient Heliopolis site. The archeologists also dug up a huge torso section of the statue, although the legs and hips were missing.
The experts believe that the bottom half of the statue also lie beneath the ground somewhere, but acknowledge that it could be almost impossible to find them, considering the area is known built up with a modern civilization. As if that wasn’t enough, an obelisk and a partial statue of Ramses II’s grandson, Pharaoh Seti II, was also found at the site.
