The workers carefully and gently lifted the creature from the hole. Once they saw the animal up close in broad daylight, they had no idea what the animal even was. Was it a puppy? Perhaps it was a bunny? The animal was so covered in the thick mud that it was impossible to recognize its features at all. They decided to call it a puppy only because they couldn’t think of any other alternative.
