This was most definitely not the sight that visitors had expected upon entering Kruger National Park that morning. If the story had a happy ending, it would provide an incredible, unique memory, but, if the baby didn’t survive, the visitors would no doubt be plagued by grief.
All anyone could do was hope for the life of the little one. Viewers of the story’s video watched in suspense, with many posting comments praying for the baby elephant and wishing for it – and its mother – to recover from the ordeal.
