The first visitors at the safari park in 1927 paid a little over the equivalent of $1 for their entry. They were some of the first people to ever experience animals in all their glory, roaming thousands of miles of land freely and safely.
Kruger not only wanted to protect animals and their environments, but he also wanted to enable humans to coexist with nature. He aimed to invite people to the park where they could walk alongside animals, with no threat to either of them, which he successfully managed.
