Upon realizing that the mother was becoming increasingly distressed while facing the onlookers and not leaving her baby’s side, the rangers knew that something was seriously wrong.
They decided to use a clever piece of technology to get a closer look at what was happening. Using thermal imaging, the rangers could find out if the baby was alive or not, as warmth shows life, while cadavers are cold. Upon using the heat sensor, they discovered the baby was alive. It was not breathing, but it was still alive, at least.
