It’s fair to say that Nancy McKeon took on an iconic role when she was cast as Jo Polniaczek. However, what you might not know is that she also auditioned for another iconic television role over the course of her career.
Nancy actually auditioned for the role of Monica in Friends. She auditioned alongside Courteney Cox, and the casting director just couldn’t decide between them. In the end, it was Marta Kauffman and David Crane who eventually decided to go with Courteney instead of Nancy for the role.
