Apart from his tour for the shoe company, Wadlow also found other ways to monetize his stature during his too-short life. One of those ways was becoming apartment of the infamous Ringling Brothers Circus.

Joining the Ringling Brothers

Wadlow joined their 1936 tour of the United States, and even appeared in the famed venues of Madison Square Garden and the Boston Garden. However, he always maintained his dignity, and appeared in the center ring rather than the sideshow, with the other so-called “freaks.” He also dressed in his everyday clothes, rather than wearing a top hat and penguin suit.
