Sultan Kösen is currently 36 years old and holds the Guinness World Record for tallest living male. He measures at 8’3”, so has also joined the club of people who have reached over eight feet tall.
Like a lot of extremely tall people, Sultan’s extraordinary height is due to a condition called acromegaly, which was caused by a tumor that was affecting his pituitary gland at a very young age. In many pictures of the man, we can see him using crutches. This is because his condition leaves him finding walking reasonably difficult.
