Born on August 25 1961, Cyrus has always lived with musical influences. With a guitar-playing father, and a Pentecostal preacher for a grandfather, Billy Ray’s life was suffused with the spirit of bluegrass and gospel, and he was singing by the age of 4.
He even studied music at college, before dropping out to be a musician full time.
