Many think the Queen has handled Megxit with compassion and grace, despite the controversy it has brought on her family. In what has since been called the Sandringham Summit, the Queen met with her grandson and others from the immediate family, and essentially gave her reluctant blessing.
She made it clear she would have preferred they stayed regular working royals, but also understands their need for more privacy. Perhaps her empathizing with their situation, will actually bring Meghan and the Queen closer in the end.
