Through and through, while this situation is obviously annoying and probably frustrating for not only the bride, but also, the MIL, it could always be worse. It seems like this is the first real issue the two have had, and that is pretty rare for this type of relationship.
Though it may seem like a pretty awkward situation, things could be way worse. For instance, the MIL could be trying to sabotage the wedding completely. Though her request is completely unreasonable, it is just a small request.
