Some fans might be confused as to why Kelly chose to join The Voice instead of American Idol. It would seem like an obvious choice for her to join the show that helped her get her big break and start in the music industry. As it turns out, she’d been in talks for years with The Voice’s producers about joining their judging panel. Her husband is also country singer, Blake Shelton’s, manager so it simply made sense for her to be on that show instead. It was a family decision.
