The thing that has gotten Kelly through it all has definitely been her confidence, but she didn’t always have her head up so high. She admitted in 2007 that she had an eating disorder for a bit when she was a teen because she would get better parts in musicals at school if she was skinny. She says that even when she was super skinny, people would still shame her. For so long, she was miserable and suffering, so eventually she had enough of it all.
