Kim Basinger started her career in the 1970s as a very successful model. She had everything modeling agencies were looking for – tall, thin, blonde, stunning, and witty. In 1976, after a great stint in modeling, Kim began her transition into acting. She started slow, with television movies, such as From Here to Eternity.

Since moving into acting, Kim has been nothing but successful in the field. She won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the 1997 film L.A. Confidential. Her other memorable roles are Batman, I Dreamed of Africa, and Cellular. She is also known for her relationship with actor Alec Baldwin, to whom she was married for nine years, and has daughter Ireland with.
