Although ‘Eyes That See in the Dark’ was a very successful album in the United States, it didn’t fare quite so well in the United Kingdom, not even cracking the top 40 of the album charts there.
In large part, this is because the record label were intent on having the album’s title track be released as the lead single across the Atlantic – as such the album generated much less momentum than it would have had ‘Islands in the Stream’ been the lead single.
