Kathy Baker played Jenna’s wise mother, Bev Rink. At the beginning of the movie, Bev is the caring mom who just wants her nearly-teenage daughter to be happy, and doesn’t understand why she’s struggling so much. 30-year-old Jenna has lost touch with her mother, however, and when she goes back to visit her, Bev gives her some of the best advice of the movie, telling her that she doesn’t regret her mistakes because they helped her “make things right.”
