Postpartum depression is definitely a state that is not talked about enough, not for how common it is among women who gave birth. Brooke worked hard on making herself better: she went to therapy, she appeared on different shows including the Oprah Winfrey Show to talk about her condition, and even released a book called Down Came the Rain. During her worst moments she had suicidal thoughts and was unable to bond with her daughter. By talking about everything she was feeling, it enabled her to deal with her struggle better.
