Unbeknown to Vale during the prank, a store manager spotted his GoPro camera sitting on top of a TV box. Thinking someone had just left it behind by mistake, the employee took it to the front desk where it would stay until someone came to ask for it back. It was at this point another employee at Best Buy realized it was recording and the manager decided to pull a funny face at the camera.
The camera had been right beside Vale, but the manager walked right on by without even asking him if the GoPro belonged to him. Someone senior at the store thought this camera might have been used for something bad, and decided to look at the footage.
