In 1992, way before Michael even knew of Catherine’s existence, he had already taken up an issue with the bottle. It was the same year that his hit film Basic Instinct came to theaters. Michael spent one month at a rehabilitation facility for alcoholism and substance abuse at Sierra Tucson Center. He allowed the fast world of Hollywood to suck him under, only to finally get a handle on things that year.
