Back in 2010, Michael announced to the world that he was had been diagnosed with throat cancer. His cancer was diagnosed at the latest stage, stage IV. He underwent radiation and chemotherapy treatments. Michael went to several American doctors who failed to diagnose him properly, only in Canada did they finally find the culprit of his ailment. The reason for his cancer, as Michael said, was a combination of smoking, substance abuse and stress.
