Jean Coutu is the owner the famous drugstore chain that holds his name. He studied pharmacy in Montreal in the 1960s and after graduating managed Parmacie Leduc. After he and his friends were refused to be associates of the company he launched Farmaterias, an over- the-counter discount pharmacie. In 1969 he used all of his money to build the Jean Coutu Discount Pharmacies Chain, which has become one of the largest drugstores in Canada.
