It is totally possible to negotiate the price of your health care at a hospital, especially if what you were going in for was an emergency procedure.
There are websites with the average prices of certain medical devices and operations in your area, and you can negotiate your providers to those lower prices. Additionally, ask the billing office if there are any discounts available. One woman saved 10% off her bill when she figured out there was a discount when paying by phone!
