To everyone’s surprise, including Kate herself, fans seemed to like Jon even more than they did before. Some fans even mentally justified him having an affair and briefly blamed Kate for the breakdown of their marriage.
To them, they felt that she had treated him poorly, and he deserved a little bit of happiness in his life. We aren’t sure that they were aware that they were justifying an affair, but they certainly took his side.
