It seems that the decision to bring Tilden into his home may have been some sort of a catharsis for Luke. He was now giving more of himself to others, and putting himself aside in a way that can be truly good for a person’s character. And given the fact that teenager he took in was the son of his late sister and brother in law, it probably was a beautiful feeling for him to watch over him, because that’s what Kelly would’ve wanted.
