Kate never imagined how successful the crowdfunding campaign would turn out to be. In just seven months, it raised almost $403,000 from 14,347 people, mostly in small donation of 5 or 10 dollars. It would be enough for him to buy – not rent – a new home, as well as the truck he always wanted.
