There might be a good reason that the Eagle is still at the top of the U.S. fighter jet list – it has been serving the military for the last 30 years. The Eagle’s primary job is to track down any threats that may be hiding in the sky. The way the aircraft does this is by using its extensive tracking system to detect any other planes in the area. Once it has locked onto a target, the Eagle then uses one of the many missiles on board to take down any threats.
