Escalators are basically stairs for lazy people. Usually, they are built in places with a lot of stairs in order to give people who would rather not climb so far a way up.
In this case, the escalator is so short that we’re not even sure why it’s necessary. There are really just four steps between the bottom and the top of the escalator. Are people really so lazy that they can’t go up four steps? The answer seems to be yes.
