There is a fine line between humor and racism – and this movie dances on the line like it’s not really sure it’s there.
In the movie, a spoiled white kid is determined to get into Harvard – but he then finds out that the only way he can get in is if he paints his skin black. He proceeds to masquerade as an African American, and let’s just say it doesn’t exactly go right for him. More importantly, audiences weren’t so sure how to react.
