Perhaps the real lesson from the story is that we should always keep our eyes peeled. The police officer, who is also the hero of this story, saw something happening, and sprung into action. It’s easy to say afterward that his decision was a no brainer, but when it all took place in real time, the gears in his head were probably spinning like crazy. He was seeing it all for the first time, and he was not expecting it in any way.
