In the past, many believed that people with DS could not do the same things as the average person. The Parrys are working to break that myth. On their website, there is a list of the many hobbies and activities that people with DS can participate in. Carol Boys, who is the head of the DSA (‘Down Syndrome Association’), said of this topic, “in the past it was believed there were many things that children with Down Syndrome could not do when in fact they had never been given the opportunity to try.”
