For years, Walt Disney had dreamed about building a theme park where both children and adults could go to enjoy themselves. Once he received zoning rights and funds, he and his Imagineers analyzed every amusement park in the country in order to make his the very best.
Finally, construction began in 1954 and the park opened in 1955. After years of dreaming, Disneyland became a reality. We can only imagine how thrilled Walt Disney must have been when this picture was taken at the grand opening.
