Years before being known for its movie franchise starring Johnny Depp, Pirates of the Caribbean was, and still is, a popular Disney theme park attraction. The original version was opened in 1967 in Disneyland, and allowed its guests to take a boat trip through a Louisiana bayou, and meet a band of singing pirates along the way.

Of course, a lot of work went into building the realistic animatronic figures at the time. Here, a Disneyland employee is seen finishing up some mechanical work on a couple of the ride’s pirates.
