On that day in 2014, the Kumpulas brought a ray of light into Watts’ life. Although her loss was still a lot for her to handle, she now had a place where she could try and deal with her grief. She set the bench near a bookcase that contained Noah’s ultrasound and his ashes.
As well as his footprints and handprints. It was like a little memorial corner for her stillborn son, and it allowed Valerie somewhere to sit whenever her emotions got the better of her.
