Having the same name as the biblical mountain, Mount Ararat is considered to be the location of the ark thanks to its name. The mountain is the tallest in Turkey, with the top measuring 16,854 ft, and it is currently a dormant volcano. Due to the importance placed on the mountain, Armenia’s coat of arms depicts the mountain, despite it being in Turkey. The coat of arms has the ark sat atop of the mountain, such is the Armenian belief that the ark is located there.
