Cote’s NCIS character had a special relationship with Michael Weatherly’s character – and when they were casting Ziva, the casting directors wanted to ensure that the pair had chemistry. Because of this, Cote had to audition alongside Michael.
Although she tried her best to stick to the script, it was Michael who flipped things around. To see how she would react, he started to improvise and flirt with Cote. While she was a little taken aback, she took it on the chin and flirted back, earning her the role.
