Although they might have been sheltered from the cameras at a young age, George and Charlotte are growing up and are more aware of who they are than ever before. The royal children are aware now why they are different from other children, which means they know why the cameras are there.
Rather than ignoring them like their adult relatives, the young children prefer to react to them. They know the cameramen and women want a picture, so they are only happy to oblige by putting on a show!
